The Carbondale Park District offers a wide variety of events and programs through the seasons. Please check back often to see any new events happening.
The Carbondale Park District will make every attempt to facilitate inclusion of individuals with special needs into our programs and activities. Inclusion within the Carbondale Park District means individuals with disabilities are welcome to participate in the same recreation programs and activities as their peers. Reasonable accommodations, such as adaptive equipment or an aide, are provided to enable an individual’s successful participation in a program. If you have questions about inclusion, please call 549-4222 to speak with the Recreation Coordinator.
SIn addition to inclusion in traditional recreation programs, the Carbondale Park District also has activities and programs that are geared towards individuals with special needs. The goal of the Carbondale Park District special recreation program is to provide a diverse range of recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. As we begin to grow our special recreation program, we are open to any and all program ideas that will help expand our offerings.
This program is designed to provide students with special needs the opportunity to learn, enjoy, and thrive in an aquatic setting.
The Carbondale Park District has scheduled a series of get togethers for adult special populations at the Hickory Lodge. Activities vary, fun is always had. Come alone, with a friend, or in a group. Call 549-4222 to RSVP. Our next party will be at the Super Splash Park, July 28 from 4:30-6:30pm.
