Family Recreation at the Carbondale Park District

The Carbondale Park District offers a wide variety of events and programs through the seasons. Please check back often to see any new events happening.

Parent/Child Friday Night Swim

This swim session is for families to enjoy our heated, indoor pool during a time when no lessons or fitness classes are scheduled. Parents are invited to bring their children and spend Friday evenings from 7:00-9:00 at the LIFE Community Center. The fee is $5.00 per family of 4. Additional family members are $1.00 each.

Family Vacation Night

Sponsored by the Postitive Youth Development Coalition, Family Vacation Nights are held on the first Monday of the month from 5:30-7pm. This free family activity is open to all families. Visit familyvacationnight.weebly.com for more information. Canoeing, fishing, and outside games are just a few of the fun things that we will do.

Canoe for $5/person or $10/canoe (3 person max)

We supply the equipment, lifeguard, and instruction for people interested in learning to canoe. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The fee is $5/person or $10/canoe (3 person max).

Egg Hunts Galore!

We have 3 egg hunts planned for 2020:

  • Youth Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 4 at Evergreen Park
  • Teen Egg Hunt, Friday April 3, Marberry Arboretum
  • Adult Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 4 or Sunday, April 5 at Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
