The Carbondale Park District offers a wide variety of events and programs through the seasons. Please check back often to see any new events happening.
Canoe for $2
We supply the equipment, lifeguard, and instruction for people interested in learning to canoe. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The fee is $2 per person. This programs takes place on the following Saturdays from 1-3pm at the Evergreen Park boat dock: April 8 & 22, May 6 & 20
Mother’s Day Tea Party
Take the most special lady in your life out for tea, sandwiches, and sweet treats the day before Mother’s Day. Soak up the sunshine while showing her how much she means to you!
Family Vacation Night
Sponsored by the Postitive Youth Development Coalition, Family Vacation Nights are held on the first Monday of the month from 5:30-7pm, with the exception of April 2017, which will be the first Saturday. All Species Puppet Parade
This parade takes place on Earth Day–Saturday, April 22, 2017. We will kick off at the LIFE Community Center and conclude at Turley Park with youth activities, story-telling, and songs.
Egg Hunt Extravaganza
Bring a basket, bag, or box to put your eggs in! We will see you promptly at 12:00pm at Evergreen Park’s Giant Sycamore Shelter Saturday, April 8. Children that are walking through 12 years are invited to participate.
Cardboard Boat Regatta
For the second year in a row, this event will be held on the lake at Evergreen Park! Create a boat entirely of cardboard and hold it together with glue, caulk, tape or similar substances and add some waterproofing. Boat inspection begins at 10am. Races begin at 1pm.
